Yet another great week for Dolphin Sightings
This wonderful weather has meant yet another great week for dolphin sightings. Regular sightings at our usual places of Mwnt and Cardigan Island plus more unusually right on Cardigan Bar in front of the Cliff Hotel. Cardigan Island is very busy with birds and the colours are beautiful. It really is the best time if the year around the island. The seals have become a bit scarce. We still manage to find the odd few on most trips but nothing like the numbers we were seeing 2-3 weeks ago. Looking forward to our 1st All Day Trip this coming Saturday 15th June. Still 2 places left! :-)Labels: Sightings

A great week for Dolphin Sightings
The weather has been a lot better this week and has lead to some great dolphin sightings. Today we had sightings on all our trips with one particularly awesome (& I don't use that word much!) encounter with a pod of around 5 dolphins swimming along with us as we traveled at apx 5 knots towards Mwnt. They were so close you could have touched them. I did get some video which will be on YouTube as soon as its edited. Don't forget to check out facebook www.facebook.com/abaytoremember & twitter www.twitter.com/abaytoremember for latest sightings updates.

A Dolphin called "Lumpy"!
If you are interested in some of the background to the dolphins we see here is some about this dolphin, which was part of the pod we encountered on Friday afternoon. We submit our sightings data and photos when available to seawatch foundation to assist with their research. Zoom in on his fin to look for the markings that make it possible to ID him. The have confirmed that he is nicknamed ‘Lumpy’. He was 1st recognised in 2007 as a calf of a long-term female from the area so it’s safe to say that he is probably 5-6 years old now.

Sunday 5th May
After a week away in the sun it was nice to be back out on the boat yesterday. We had a great day with dolphin sightings, first just east of cardigan island and later between cardigan island and cemaes head. Between 6 & 8 in each group. Also lots of seals on the beach at cemaes head, counted 150+. See our Facebook page for some more photos and video :-)
