Day off!

We spotted dolphins on one of the 5 trips today, however it was a pod of around 8 moving from Mwnt to Cardigan Island. Unfortunately some jet skis then arrived and the dolphins didn't hang around. Plenty of seals around cemaes head again with about 20 hauled out on the beach at one point with at least that many in the water. One group of passengers had recently been to see mama mia and burst into song which the seals found intriguing! Also a king fisher was spotted in one of the caves on cemaes head - weird!

We only managed to get out 1 trip today and then the bar whipped up a little too rough due to a big ground swell. However we did see around 50 seals on the beach but no dolphons today.

A good day for Dolphins sightings today, seeing them on all of our 3 trips today. Two pods of between 6 - 8 were feeding between cardigan island and mwnt. A real treat was one of the baby dolphins putting on a lovely show for us. Not quite as graceful as the parents but very cute! Also we had some singing seals in one of the caves by Cardigan Island Farm Park.

"We went out on the early bird trip on Sat 2nd Aug and we thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a real treat to see the dolphins and the seals - the experience left us smiling all day! Even if we hadn't been so lucky the trip was well worth it. The information about the wildlife in the area was fantastic, and spotting the birds the birds was fantastic. We will recommend this trip to anyone we come across and will be doing it again when we visit the area in future." - Rosie Ruston

It was quite rough at times today which can make it more dificult to spot the Dolphins but I'm glad to say we did see a Pod of 4 - 6 feeding by Cardigan Island Farm Park on one of the 3 trips. A great day for Seals around Cemaes Head with some huge bull seals coming very close to the boat.

Only one sighting of the dolphins today on our early bird trip, with 2 dolphins taking us by surprise by emerging from a wave well clear of the water right next to the boat. The dolphins then stayed with the boat for 20 minutes! We're also pleased that the seals seem to be returning to the beaches around cemaes head, presumably in preparation for the pupping season.

"As chairman of the Mid and West Wales Down's Syndrome Group, I want to extend our thanks and appreciation of the 3 back to back trips into Cardigan Bay that you provided for our families on Saturday the 12th of July. Both children and adults had a great time. It was an unforgettable afternoon, both educational and lots of fun seeing all the wildlife."

We managed to dodge the rain pretty well today, well most of it anyway :-) We had 3 sightings of the dolphins today on a total of 5 trips. The evening trips saw the two best sightings with a pod of between 8 - 10 surfacing all around the boat, within as little as 2 metres.
