Bottlenose dolphins, Atlantic grey seals and a variety of bird life, together with a stunningly beautiful coastline and spectacular sea caves make Cardigan Bay truly “A Bay To Remember”
Not the best day for dolphins yesterday! We only saw 1 all day plus 3-4 porpoise. A heavily pregnant seal stayed on the beach at cemaes head all day. The sea mist really came in thick for our last trip at 18:30, making visibility pretty poor but very atmospheric!

Dolphins sighted on all of today's trips which is quite a result given the sea conditions. A helpful gannet took us straight to a pod of apx 8 to start with and we watched them jumping & even surfing in the waves. The rest of the days sightings were not quite as spectacular. Thankfully there were plenty of seals around cemaes head, which made up for the soaking on the way! No caves today due to the northerly winds.

Just 3 trips today with dolphins seen on 2. 1st trip had two dolphins either side of the boat playing in our bow wave for about 400m as we made way to Mwnt. The 2 girls at the front of the boat got splashed by them!! Then At least a dozen just by mwnt!! Not quite so many on the 3rd trip, approx 5. Quite a few seals on all trips.

After a very successful 1st trip of the day (extended 1.5 hour trip) yesterday gave approx 4 dolphins just to the east of cardigan island then 2 porpoise, one of which was a very small youngster and very cute. We didn't see any dolphins on the next few trips but quite a few (5-10) seals were around the beach at cemaes head. On our last trip the NW wind had picked up a little making the sea conditions far from ideal for finding dolphins again. However whilst on our way to Mwnt, out of the blue, 2 dolphins breached about 10 metres in from of us. We quickly switch to neutral and had were blessed with some very close encounters as approx 5 dolphins Inc 1 calf moved around the stationary boat. As they moved away we left them and headed to Cemaes to see the seals again.
